l have to agree with Rom #116 when he says “I’ve known plenty of men who didn’t match the Alpha Male paradigm and still got women.”. It’s totally true, IME. That said, I think it makes sense to do what works with a majority of women, and if being more alpha is what works, then it seems the safest route…I think OTC #83 said it right when he said being yourself was “a matter of principles vs. tactics. Principles are timeless, but specfic tactics are context-dependent, and so are situational”.
Btw coincidentally I was looking at some ladies’ magazines at a friend’s place and saw (on the cover of ‘August Woman’–Singapore edition) the head line ‘Why We Love the Beta Male’, lol.
Frankly I’ve usually preferred confident betas for dating/rships, but at the moment, the guy I’m dating seems to be a mix and perhaps leans towards alpha, as commenter asdgamer told me. Have to admit that that alpha-ness can be extremely attractive but would prefer him to be more beta. I think many of the confident betas with select traits are already married. :(
So I’m confused about how I now feel about Mr Semi-Alpha now. But that’s because I’m interested in LTRs, which is a bit different from the focus of this post which is how to be a good player I guess.

I somewhat disagree about the just be yourself. My lady problems came about by listening to blue pill advice and stopping being myself. Not a huge bone of contention, just mentioning it does happen.
