I’ve always claimed that Latin women are one of the most beautiful women in the world. Whether you’re from Brazil or the Dominican Republic, our blend of African, Spanish and Native roots make us uniquely diverse, and in turn, gorgeous.

I’m not just saying that because I am Latina. A proud Dominican, I have visited the Dominican Republic and other Latin American and Caribbean countries and have marveled at our exquisite beauty. But how do we fare with women from all over the world? Where do Latinas rank on the list of most attractive ethnicities?

GirlsOnAMap, a travel website for bachelors, surveyed 60,000 people from more than 90 countries on the attractiveness of women from certain ethnicities. The study used photos of regular women – no celebrities, models, or Instagram stars – from over 60 countries. Here are the results of the GirlsOnAMap survey along with some of my commentary:

1. Norway (Blonde and blue eyed – how cliche.)

2. Lithuania (All I know about Lithuanian women is that they traditionally have little to no curves. And I learned that from Google.)

3. Poland (I guess polka is sexy?)

4. Switzerland (One name: Elin Nordegren aka Tiger Woods’ ex-wife aka car abuser.)

5. India (I do know many gorgeous Indian women.)

6. Sweden (Don’t the Swedish look like the Swiss?)

7. Iceland (See above.)

8. Iraq (There’s something about a woman in a burka.)

9. Hungary (Great, now I’m hungry.)

10. Belgium (Audrey Hepburn was Belgian. I think we have our answer.)

So not one Latin America country is on the top 10 list of most attractive women by ethnicity. I call for a revote! How did Latinas fair after the top 10? Argentina came in at 12 and Brazil came in at 17. Brazil. At 17!

I am also a proud American so I needed to know how women from the United States ranked. American women were considered the 24th most attractive in the entire world. Question is: what does an American woman look like anyway? Is that even an ethnicity? Nope. I’d love to see the photos they used to represent the good US of A.
